School Values

Our school values help us to live and learn together.

They are the foundation for a safe and caring school committed to working and learning together to empower students to be successful in the community and in the future.

sw

  • Values develop student resilience and positive learning environments
  • Values improve learning through fostering student wellbeing
  • Values develop student awareness and positive behaviours for a socially inclusive community
  • Values develop positive relationships and mutual understandings, contribute to improvements in learning and general academic outcomes

The four school values that underpin our wellbeing policy are Fairness, Respect, Collaboration and Confidence.

Fairness

  • Every child has the right to expect that consequences will apply to all children for appropriate / inappropriate behaviours.
  • Expectations are explained clearly and precisely.
  • Allow time for compliance particularly when new rules are introduced.
  • Allow for reminders until any new expectations have had time to be absorbed.
  • Achievable expectations are set for all children.

Respect -Valuing ourselves and others

  • Every child is entitled to respect, when responding to behaviour issues.
  • Focus on the behaviour, not on the person.

  • Try new things
  • Know what we are good at and what we need to improve
  • Believe in ourselves and be willing to try new things
  • Ask for help when needed
  • Praise and encourage positive achievement
